USS George H W Bush

Hi, I wanted to publish these pics but not clog up my bee blog, so I have started an off topic thread.  Walking the dog on Stokes Bay this morning and this is what we saw.  It looks pretty awesome from our side.  The Isle of Wight is just in the back ground.

"The world's most powerful warship has arrived in the Solent.

The USS George H W Bush has dropped anchor in Stokes Bay off Gosport, as it's too big to fit in Portsmouth Harbour.  The ship and crew have been taking part in a training exercise with the Royal Navy.  With up to 6,000 American sailors set to descend on Portsmouth this bank holiday weekend."

"The new carrier is powered by two nuclear reactors that can keep it operating for 20 years without refueling. It’s capable of carrying more than 80 aircraft and can reach top speeds of 30 knots during its estimated 50-year service life."
Its a floating village! Hearing about how the Americans Services normally set up their overseas bases, do you think there is a Krispy Creme and Pizza Hut on board?

To make our walk even more fun, they were kind enough to play the National Anthem and the Star Spangled Banner for us while we walked.  Either that or it was for the visitors on the white ship drawing up next to them.
